3.4 shipped Teams of 3 to 300
Work at depth. Come up when it matters.
VivaOcean is a focus suite for teams who have decided that concentration is a shared resource rather than a personal virtue. You start a dive. Your team can see how deep you are. The only things that reach you are the ones you agreed would.
Three things, and they are the same thing
Dives
A dive is a block of time with a depth on it. Shallow is twenty-five minutes and reachable. Deep is ninety and is not. You pick the depth when you start, and you cannot quietly renegotiate it at minute forty.
The Shoal
One screen showing who is down and who is up. Not a status emoji somebody forgot to clear in March: a live picture that expires by itself when the dive ends.
Currents
Recurring blocks where the whole team is down together. Interruption is cheapest when everybody is unavailable at the same time, which is the one scheduling insight this product has.
The line stays open
The objection to focus tools is always the same and it is a fair one: some things genuinely cannot wait. So VivaOcean ships with an escalation path that works at any depth, and it is the part of the product we are strictest about.
A page marked urgent by someone on your escalation list reaches you in under ten seconds, at ninety minutes deep, with the notification sound you chose for exactly that. Everything else waits. The list is small on purpose and the product will argue with you if you try to make it long.
- Median time for an urgent page to land across all dives on the platform last quarter 6.2s
- Interruptions that were not urgent held until the diver surfaced 97.4%
- Median deep hours per person per week teams on Currents, after eight weeks 11.5h
What people say when it is working
"We had all the calendar hygiene in the world and none of it mattered, because being free and being available are different things and only one of them was on the calendar."
Head of engineering, 40-person team
"The thing that changed was not the tool. It was that everyone could see the depth, so asking became a decision instead of a reflex."
Design lead, 12-person team
VivaOcean is a fictional product. This site exists to show a theme, and every number on it was made up to fill a layout.
