Davenport

A small desk for a small team. This page is the product's site, arranged as its own desktop; with JavaScript off it reads top to bottom like any other page.

v0.9 beta Self-host or cloud

Your team's whole desk.

Davenport keeps a small team's notes, tasks and files on one surface, where you can see all of it at once. A davenport is a small writing desk. This one seats nine.

About

Made for teams that fit at one desk.

Between two and nine people. Past that you want an office suite, and the office suites know where to find you.

Most workspace tools are buildings: floors of features, a lobby, a map by the elevator. Davenport is furniture. Everything your team is working on sits on one desk, and when you need the pricing or the docs, you open them where you are. That is why this site is arranged as a desktop: the product is a place where work sits out in the open, so its site behaves the same way.

We are four people and a well-reviewed pull-request bot. The beta is real software with the rough edges labeled.

Features

Four drawers. That's the product.

Each one does its job and stops. Nothing here has a roadmap to become a platform.

Notes

Pages that remember who changed what and when, without a version tree you need a diagram to read.

Tasks

A list that ends. Tasks close, closed tasks leave, and the list gets shorter, which is the entire feature.

Files

Versioned automatically, so the folder never fills with final_v2_REAL. The old versions are there when you ask and invisible when you do not.

The weekly fold

On Friday, the week's notes and closed tasks fold into one page you can actually read on Monday. Read it with coffee.

Pricing

Three prices, no calls.

The page you are reading is the whole pricing conversation.

Solo

$0

One person, every drawer. Free for as long as it is one of you.

Most teams

Team

$4 / person / month

Up to nine seats, priced so the decision needs nobody's approval.

Self-host

$0 forever

One binary, your server, your backups. The docs window has the install line.

Beta pricing, honored for two years after launch.

Docs

Short enough to read.

The whole manual is nine pages. These are the three people arrive needing.

Self-hosting

One binary and a data directory. This is the install:

$ davenport serve --data /var/lib/davenport
listening on :7420
desk is open

Guides

  • Moving in Import from the tools you are leaving 4 min
  • The weekly fold What it collects and what it skips 3 min
  • Backups One folder, rsync-friendly 2 min

Get started

Pull up a chair.

The beta is open. You get a desk, your team gets invites, and nothing asks for a card.

Davenport is a fictional product. This page exists to show a theme.
